Critics

X-Men: Apocalypse is a decent follow-up to Days of Future Past - albeit one that will service longtime series fans more than casual filmgoers. Full review

Ben Kendrick·Screen Rant

The latest entry in one of the more reliable comic-book franchises around, this time disappointingly succumbing to an exhausting case of been-there-done-that-itis. Full review

Geoff Berkshire·Variety

Messier and heavier than Days Of Future Past, this is not so much the next step in the X-Men’s evolution as a failed callback to past glories. Full review

Isaac is such a focused, centered actor that he eradicates the FX noise around him. Full review

                                      Overview

Honestly I believe this is the worst one of the entire franchise. The fan favorite character Wolverine didn’t get his much needed screen time rather was only present in one scene, Mystique was then made the person of interest. Why are they trying to make Jennifer Lawrence the new Hugh Jackman of the franchise? 😩😩. We want our Wolverine back please.

So what I picked up from this story is that Wolverine went to the past in the prequel, he changed the entire timeline because now Mystique is a hero, she is even like a god to the young mutants……WHAT!!! The only things that kept me even awake in this movie are professor X (James McAvoy) because he is a great actor and quicksilver. Quicksilver is one character that was really amazing in this movie. The fact made by many marvel and DC fans were that Barry Allen (the flash) is faster than quicksilver, though true was changed in so many people’s point of view after watching his wonders in the movie.

This is my ranking for all the X-men movies;

1.    X-men 3: The last stand

2.    X-men: First class

3.    X-men: Origins

4.    X-men: Days of future past

5.    X-men

6.    X-men 2: United

7.    X-men: Apocalypse

But honestly this franchise has gone on for too long, don’t you think? There are 7 installments excluding The wolverine. Still Marvel have one or two more in the making. *sighs.

What should have happened

1.    Jean Grey: I am aware of how very powerful she is but still the last battle made no sense at all. The movie did nothing but hype Apocalypse from the beginning of the movie, he was portrayed as the god of all mutant which couldn’t be defeated or even if had to be very difficult. He was like the superman of mutants. They all tried and failed from Magneto to Mystique to Storm to Professor X to Quicksilver to Beast to Night crawler to Cyclops. None of them could even harm a hair on his body but then here comes little Jean and BOOM!!! She defeated him so easily. “The first ever mutant”,” The bible got the idea of the 4 horse men from him”,” the body jumper” all worthless hype if Jean could defeat him without even sweating. So doesn’t that make Jean the strongest of them all and of all time. Maybe she should even control Xavier’s school for the gifted. 😒😒

2.    Professor X: Over years we have seen him run the school so smoothly although accommodating hundreds of students with destructive abilities. Is the guy a drug dealer!!!🙌🙌 Where is he getting his money from. Think about it, they don’t pay him tuition fee because some or most of them are abandoned children brought in as an act of kindness. They destroy so many facilities when learning to control their abilities. I’d assume he is also feeding them…. with what money though?

3.    Apocalypse: This guy had so many powers that I even lost count but I do know that he can manipulate the earth to his advantage, so why not just bury all Xavier’s men alive and then take Charles’ body😐.
