PLOT

Hip-hop artist and CEO of Empire Entertainment, Lucious Lyon, has always ruled unchallenged, but a medical diagnosis predicts he will be incapacitated in three years, which prompts the sharks to circle. Without further damaging his family, he must decide which of his three sons will take over. His favorite, young Hakeem, is a gifted musician but values fame over hard work. Middle son, Jamal, is talented and shy but gay -- embarrassing to Lyon. The oldest, Andre, is business-minded but lacks charisma. The reappearance of Cookie, his ex-wife, complicates things; she says he owes her for taking the fall for the drug-running that financed his early career.

OVERVIEW

This show is one that displays the behind the scene of the lives of musicians. The people that we listen to and see on deliberate public appearances are not completely the people they appear to be. The tv series also shows the fights and struggles they have to go through day after day to make it. The show centers around a family of 3 sons of which only 2 are musically talented......Andre the dead guy 😒.
I prefer Hakeem to Jamal, because he has charisma and although being the youngest, speaks his mind to whomever.
Hakeem portrays the typical rapper; Tupac, Diddy, Nas.
Jamal portrays a typical singer; John legend, Steve wonder, Craig David 
This show has been a big hit from its debut season which featured many celebrity appearances such as; Jennifer Hudson, Rita Ora, Juicy J, Estelle, Courtney Love and many more. It even got better when they came back in season 2 with Jason Derulo, Alicia Keys, Swiss beats, Chris Rock, Neyo, Kelly Rowland, Becky G and others. Season 3 has been confirmed to feature Kid Cudi and Taylor swift is still in consideration. They don't plan on slowing down for a second. Since Lucious was imprisoned, his 2 talented sons have each had a shot at running the family business (empire) but the power was restored to Lucious and Cookie later on. Andre hasn't had a shot at the throne yet because it's meant to be run by someone in the music industry but I'm sure he has something devious under his sleeve. Anticipate season 3!!! I know I am.
